Neubrandenburger Stadtwerke GmbH

“A data migration masterstroke”

A multi-talent with personality – that’s neu.sw, Neubrandenburger Stadtwerke GmbH. Since 1992, neu.sw has been following a consistent multi-utility strategy and provides its customers comprehensive services in the segments gas, electricity, district heating, water supply and sewage disposal, public transportation, power generation, cable TV and data transmission services.

Until 2003 Neubrandenburger Stadwerke GmbH used a software solution from a Swedish company, which had the main disadvantage of lacking the possibility to carry out billing of the individual segments based on anticipated payments.

In light of the urgent need for optimisation of the accounting system, the Neubrandenburg company explored diverse industry solutions and outsourcing possibilities. According to Holger Hanson, the company’s chief executive, in addition to the necessary transparency, flexibility and efficiency, one factor of great importance was regional proximity.

The software standard kVASy from SIV.AG had numerous factors in its favour. Other applications from well-known, international companies were rather complex and cost-intensive and did not meet the technological and functional requirements, while the IT solution from SIV.AG with its high degree of modularity, comfort of use and system stability made a convincing case.

“During our visit in Roggentin, we were especially impressed by the team-oriented working atmosphere and the open communication”, remarks Andreas Klein, project leader and commercial manager of Neubrandenburger Stadtwerke GmbH. “From the very beginning, the consultants and project managers at SIV.AG put their heart and soul into the project and demonstrated a high degree of competence, commitment and expertise”.

The fair and constructive cooperative work along with the open communication were one of the reasons that the anticipated payment billing system could be implemented in record time of only 5 months.

The tight coordination of the project leaders and the strong commitment of all involved made it possible for the data migration – the most demanding part of the project – to be carried out in a very short time. Andreas Klein calls it, “A data migration masterstroke”.
