With Oracle and SIV.AG, we have been able to reorganise our companies process and customer oriented and to expand our existing range of services. We have greatly increased our efficiency.
Christian Koos, general manager of SWS Stadtwerke Stralsund GmbH.
Electricity, gas and water belong to the basic needs of the people. For many years these segments had been state regulated, however, now the energy markets are liberalised and closely oriented to customer needs. In addition, services that pursue new ideas providing targeted, customer-oriented service are of greater importance. In light of these facts, the Stadtwerke Stralsund (SWS) group restructured and successfully expanded its existing range of services.
Four million cubic meters of drinking water, nearly five million transported passengers in public transportation, 190,000 MW of electricity, 150,000 MWh of heating and more than 600,000 MWh of gas those are the key data outlining the dimensions of this energy company.
With the group-wide introduction of Web.kVASy from SIV.AG based on the latest Oracle technology, the process and customer oriented reorganisation and integration of all five group subsidiaries SWS Energie, REWA, NVS, SHL and SWS telnet in one holding company was successfully carried out. During this process, SWS fully consolidated its IT landscape and now has a comprehensive accounting system for the whole group at its disposal. Additionally, an integrated profit centre for the grids (cable distribution) and sales (direct customer contact) have been created and shared services such as Billing and IT services have been set up.
